BULL CREEK GREENBELT & NATURE PRESERVE
FOREST RIDGE ACCESS (Main): South on 360 (Capitol of Texas Hwy) look for two Spicewood Springs exits. Yes - two! After the 2nd one, look for a speed limit sign on the right side of the road.Turn right, taking the side road (no name) just after the speed limit sign. This bends left and drops below the level of 360. There is a parking lot just before the creek crossing. Park here! The trail head starts here. It is behind the 6 foot chain-link fence. There are two trail heads here. Take the one on the right that follows the fenceline. This is a nature preserve and is closed (except by permit only) from March 1st through July 31st .

ST EDWARDS ACCESS: South on 360 (Capitol of Texas Hwy) look for two Spicewood Springs exits. Yes - two! Turn right on the 2nd one. West on Spicewood Springs for approx 2 miles and look for the St Edwards Park parking lot on the left. It is fenced in and has room for about 20 cars. Park here! The trail head is next to the road back up the way we drove in, just on the other side of the creek. Follow the maze of trails leading behind the parking lot but heading back in that direction. We collect on the other side of the creek where the trail crosses the creek.

SPICEWOOD ACCESS: South on 360 (Capitol of Texas Hwy) look for the Spicewood Springs exit (1st one) Turn left and take the next right on Spicewood Springs. Yes, this is the OLD Spicewood Springs connector that hooks the 2 Spicewood Springs roads together under 360. A parking lot is on the right down about 200 yards. Pull in and park there. The trail head is on the opposite of the road from the parking lot.

BULL CREEK ACCESS: heading south on 360 (Capitol of Texas Hwy) drive past both Spicewoods Springs. The next light is Lakewood Dr. Turn left on Lakewood and drive until the paved parking lot on the left just before the water crossing. Pull in and park.there. The trail head starts along the creek heading back up the way you drove in. There are trails on either side of the creek.

SURFACE: This trail is rugged, hilly, and very tough. Only about 8 miles of trail left here now. A very tough workout.Typically, we connect Forest Ridge and St Edwards, avoiding Bull Creek. The ARC runs usually start at Spicewood Springs. The Bull Creek access is flatter but overgrown, and most of this area along the creek is very marshy and usually avoided.

NOTES: On Forest Ridge, no water to cross and none to drink. This is a nature preserve and is closed (except by permit only) from March 1st through July 31st. All the other accesses have water crossings, but are open all year. Only water available is at Bull Creek access.
