Sunmart 50km
Huntsville TX - 11 December 2004

I have to share my experience too if you don't mind. Also I copied my 3 incredible friends!!! And DITTO that ya'll are awesome and hear what my friends said...

I went to support Mark Lindsey last year and was just amazed at this race and said I HAVE to do it! Well, low and behold I am recovering from an injury so wasn't sure if I could run much or finish. Well.... since I had 3 wonderful gals with me for their first ultra trail marathon, we ran/walked and FINISHED!!! got my "bankie" as I call it! I can't believe it. My friends kept commenting on how nice all the runners were (even the incredible 50 milers were so supportive of us) and the volunteers! and of course the food! The beauty of the trails! ahhhh, everything!

Friday night we were saying next year we'll do the 50 miler, ha! when we got to our 2nd and final loop of our 50 K we said, how on earth could people do 4 of these loops! So, maybe we'll wait until we hit the age of 50 and make that a goal!

we all felt the normal aches and pains. I said if I felt an injury about to happen I was going to stop, but I don't think I injured anything. We think we GAINED weight though! geez, the race walkers kept passes us as we grazed at the aid stations! I'll have to take Jim's advice next year and try to keep on going! Yes, next time, perpetuem!

Awesome race, so great to see ya'll out there! Thanks to Chris for his help and cheers! and though I still haven't met everyone I so enjoyed seeing the people I did know and my gosh, you guys were ALL smiling and really running hard! Joe, Henry, Ava, Carmen, Janice, Terri, and I missed Bryan T. darnit! Maybe next year we can have a pow wow before the race at the tent to meet some folk.

Hope everyone had a great race, and wow, what a great day! I'm SO EXCITED and surprised I got my blanket and I OWE it to my supportive friends, Clemmie, Teri, and Linda! I think they are hooked on trail running now!!!

love ya'll!
