The unbelievable, the good, the bad and the ugly:

The good - Awesome volunteers, frequent aid stations, great course with spectacular views. Even saw a little snow on Sunday along the trail. Mile markers along the trail

The bad - Nothing was bad except they didn't have Coke at the aid stations like I am used to here on trail runs. The only time I like coke is when I am doing a trail run. So, on Sunday I took a 20oz bottle with me and I got a few looks from the other runners when I started drinking it. Honestly, I think it made the difference in the miles above the tree line. All that sugar went straight to my legs as energy.

The ugly: Flying home Sunday evening after the race. No time to stretch, have an ice bath or get a massage, just time for a quick shower, then head to the airport to catch a plane home. I thought I would need a wheelchair to get to baggage claim, but somehow managed to hobble there on my own.

The unbelievable: How great the Bacon Chipolte Burger and 2 Skinny Dip beers tasted at the airport on Sunday evening. How amazing I felt crossing the finish line on Sunday.

I already sent in my order for a "doubler" t-shirt.

I did better in the Ascent on Saturday then I thought I would. I was hoping for 5 hours or less and made it in at 4:34. I was slightly slower in the marathon then I thought I would be, I was hoping for 8:15:00 or less and ended up with 8:26:46. Roughly 5:01 for the ascent portion of the marathon and 3:25 for the downhill portion.

I'm thrilled with the results, now I need to decide on my next adventure.
