Bill Gibson called me a couple of days before the race wondering if it was worth running because of the weather. For me weather is weather, cant change it so I never pay attention to the talking heads that seem to make predictions as good as politicians politic. Turned out the weather was a huge contributer to the race outcome.

For some folks the wind did not seem to have any effect upon them. I wonder how much time Jason Lippman (50 miler overall 7:30) could have shaved off his time had the breeze been a little less intense. Then there was folks like Deborah Sexton while she was attempting to zip up her outer coat a wind gust caught her and before she could catch her balance she was on the ground. Thirty one runners started the race despite the challenge Mother Nature sent against them.

Lynnor Mathney (6:31) and Derek Purvis (4:22) prevailed in the 50k. Abigale Meadows (10:51) hung tough and finished strong in the 50 miler to lead the women. In the 25k Chad Kennedy (2:14) and Melissa Mohlman (2:38) ran some good times despite the wind.

A huge thanks to the volunteers, especially Mrs. Kennedy and Mrs. Barry, you ladies are the best. Kurt Mohlmann thanks for the traffic cop duties. And to my son I cant say thanks enough. Finally a big thanks to Sherry Meador for pacing me on that last lap my knee did not say one thing that entire lap.
