Years Running: About 24 years or so.
Years Running Trails: About 14+ years.
Why did I start Running Trails?: It just seemed like a natural progression from the roads.
Favorite Trail Shoes: This is a hard one. I had been running in the original Montrail Hardrocks for a few years, but have become unhappy with them. Now, I'm experimenting with number of different shoes. When I'm not wear my Vibram Treks, I fall back on Mizuno Wave Ascends.
Favorite Running Trails: Locally, either Forest Ridge or the upper Barton Creek Greenbelt. Out there, the Guadalupe Mountans or Grand Canyon Rim2Rim.
Favorite Trail Running Foods/Beverages: Avocados are great! I like to experiment with plant-based & raw foods while running. I've had good experiences with Vega products, Larabars, PranaBars, mixed nuts, coconut water, & iskiate - chia fresca (sweetened with agave) . Just when everythings looks blah, a good old pizza slice (minus the cheese) with a beer really hits the spot during a race.
Likes/Dislikes about Trail Running: I like the solitude of running alone in the woods. My biggest turn-off is trash on the trail.
Favorite Trail/Ultra Races: Cactus Rose 100 Mile!
How do I Train?: Train, heck isn't training overrated? Actually - not so.
Personal Running Goals: Finish Tahoe Rim 100 miler.
Fantasy Running Goal: Finish the really big one, whatever that might be.
Favorite Running Quote: Two Quotes - "It is important to realize, all pain is not significant." & "I've come too far to quit now."
